Hi, Trying to understand if there is a difference in retenion for power users vs casual users. I'm specifically interested in seeing how power vs casual users retention differs for each specific monthi.e. Lets say that power users are users that have done an event 10 times and casual users are ones that have done an event less than 5 timesSo what I would like to see is how users who entered a retention cohort i.e. November 2021 are retained based on whether or not they managed to do the event X or Y times in the month that they entered If I try to do that in Cohorts, the only option I have is setting a rolling 30 day period, but I have a feeling that the cohort is created based on the current date and not the date bucket for the retention periodAny ideas how I could achieve this? Thanks!
I’m pulling all events data from mixpanel each day so I can do analysis on it in SQL. I would like to be able to convert that data into sessions but can’t find anything outside a vague description of calculating on the frontend in mixpanel. How would I go about working out sessions from the raw events data?
ACTIVITY FEED do not show all the pre-identify event after distinct_id and our account_id were already merged. we implement it depending on https://help.mixpanel.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004497803-Identity-Management-Best-Practicessign-up: call alias from server-side login: call identify from client-side logout or sign-out: call reset from client-sideI figured out pre-identify events on the EVENT board are merged into one distinct_id (in the case, our account_id) after calling identify, which is the right way. When I clicked distinct_id, however, pre-identify events do not show on the ACTIVITY FEED.(EVENT link: https://mixpanel.com/project/2607813/view/3141199/app/events#~(dateRange~(type~'in*20the*20last~window~[…]faultType~'string))~showQueryBuilder~true))(ACTIVITY FEED link: https://mixpanel.com/project/2607813/view/3141199/app/profile#distinct_id=436173343685536&~(dateRange~([…]0the*20last~window~(value~30~unit~'week)))) Event list filtered by distinct_idActivity Feed of userI
Hi We are implementing our first Mixpanel project and we have found an issue that we don’t know if we have solved it correctly. Our implementation has users that can login or not to use our product depending if they are in the paid tier or not, if they login, we assign them our internal User ID that comes from our CRM,.We have been able to do the merge id properly and once a user has logged in, the internal user id shows up in the Distinct ID cluster, the problem is that the Canonical ID does not update to our internal ID and remains the random Distinct ID that Mixpanel assigned, so if for example we want to segment all our paid users that have used the product in the last month and email them a training offer, we cannot individually identify them. The solution that we have found is to create a User Profile Property called Internal ID that, if the user is logged in, will show our internal ID and if not, the random ID that Mixpanel generates. Is this the correct implementation?
Hi all!I am using Appsflyer to track my marketing campaigns, and push the app install event (iOS) into Mixpanel.I can see the events occurring in Mixpanel, and a new user is formed (receiving a distinct_id by using the “Send advertiser id” that Appsflyer provides). The problem-When the user performs it’s first action in the app- Mixpanel recognizes him as a new user (not making the connection to the user created at the “Install app” event) and provides him with a new distinct_id-thus disconnecting the “install app” event from all future events. How do I create a continuity between the “install app” to all future events (by having a single distinct_id for all of the user’s events)? **When “Send advertiser ID” is disabled, a user is created in Mixpanel (event- “install app”) without a distinct_id**
Historically our primary user flow has been Web Visit > Web Sign-Up > Mobile App Login > Mobile App Events. So using Distinct ID and ID Merge has worked perfectly fine for reporting on this funnel. However, we’re getting ready to launch an App Sign-Up that creates 3 additional sign-up flows:App Download > App Session > App Sign-Up Web Visit > App Download > App Session > App Sign-Up App Download > App Session > Web Visit > Web Sign-Up#1 we know is OK to track. But #2 and #3 we are scratching our heads on. Even though MixPanel uses Distinct ID and ID Merge to attribute user activity post-login, because MP’s Distinct ID is cookie based and these events occur on different devices and apps without cookies… How would MP be able to use ID Merge in this situation? It seems like #2 and #3 would result in orphaned events that occur prior to Sign-Up.I also saw that there’s documentations about a server-side implementation, but not sure if that solves this issue or

I see the option for deleting a report on dashboards and I get a pop-up like this:But I just want to remove reports on my dashboard and not permanently delete them yet. I may be missing the easy solution or I am just getting mixed up with the language. Can can anyone point me in the right direction?
Hi! I’m a beginner at MixPanel and using analytics in general so please forgive my ignorance.I’d like a report that tracks the user journey of a specific feature in my application. That is, I know of an event that signals the user has entered the application page in question, and (I assume) I’ll have to track an event that signals the user has left the page. Then I would like to see all events that occur while the user is on that application page (screen updates, button clicks, etc.). This could be variable as we’re trying to understand how users are utilizing this new feature page. Is this something I can set up in MixPanel?
I have tried Mapped Lookup Table feature and I can import csv file to mapped with the event property but I cannot find the column in csv that I would like to use. Normally, I thing the column name in csv file will be shown as another event property after we did lookup table. But This time it’s not available. Anyone have any suggestion ??
Hi!In my projects, users have opportunity to edit data about other users. So, I should keep actual information about each user in mixpanel, I do next steps:mixPanel.reset(); // before I identified as memixPanel.identify(anotherUserId); // identify as another user for editing info for himmixPanel.peopleSet(newDataAboutAnotherUser); // set new data about another usermixPanel.identify(myUserId); // return to my userTell me, please, if these steps are correct or there are special algorithms for this situation?Thank you!
Hi, I’ve set up the group key in project settings per https://help.mixpanel.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025333632 but when I go to Users and filter for Groups, I get an error message “Incompatible custom events, properties, or cohorts were removed” and it shows 0 groups. When I go into users, I can verify that there are users with data for that group key (we’re using customer_id). Any advice? Thanks!
Hi, I am comparing an Insights report on a single event and a Funnel with the same exact event as the first step. I set both of the date ranges to be “Since January 28, 2020”, and then update the Insights graph from Linear to Cumulative. I would expect the Insights cumulative number to be the same as the first step in the funnel, but the Insights report shows 20% more hits than the funnel. Also, this discrepancy exists whether I add a filter on the event or not, and also whether I choose Unique or Total. Does anyone know why these would be different or what I am missing here? Thanks in advance for your help!
I'm using the mixpanel plugin for a Bubble.io app that I'm building. In bubble, there is a way to sent click events to my mixpanel account. I validated that that connection is working. I can see the click events when I go into the insights section of mixpanel (the click event is ‘Document Listing Clicked’). I can also set certain variables in bubble when the click event is sent to mixpanel, but it doesn't look like those are being send to mixpanel (listing title, listing description, listing category). Has anyone used mixpanel and bubble together before? If so, are you aware of a way to access the click event values?
