Need help setting up user lifecycle notifications (D1-D7)

Hi we’re trying to set up the following notification & email during the activation period.

For context:


Day 0 = When the user downloads and signs up on the app

Day 1 = 1 day after they signed up 

Day 2 = 2 days after they signed up and so on..


If we want to do the following:

  1. Send a notification 1 day after they signed up
  2. Send a notification 3 days after they signed up and haven’t opened up the app again between that time frame
  3. Send a notification 7 days after they signed up


What are some best practices? 

Do we use Since Last Day vs specific days on a rolling basis?

You could set up your cohort for users who signed up 24 hours ago and did not sign up 23 hours ago as shown here:

I would do a similar set up for 3 days after sign up, and 7 days after sign up.

The goal is to send the message to users who qualify at the time mark ie  7 days, but not before ie 6 days. You can learn more about adjusting the delivery settings here
