Start with an implementation plan then go over to our developer docs. which will walk you through step by step based on how you choose to implement. The Product Analytics Certification course here is also helpful for this.

How I to identify/ looking user per ID in Mixpanel ?

You can look at individual users within Users, and within that view you get access to their distinct ID which is set by Mixpanel. More on this article here https://help.mixpanel.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004501966

What types of analytics are possible if we do not use cookies?

This is a common scenario where we see customers either not using cookies cause it could end up being too large or users on their platform can disable using of cookie. In these scenarios you can switch to using Local Storage rather than cookies. While initiating Mixpanel JS SDK, you can choose to persist the data in local storage. link: https://help.mixpanel.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004546863#switch-from-cookies-to-localstorage

How can I track referrals in Mixpanel?

By referral not sure if you are referring to UTMs (https://help.mixpanel.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004561766) but if it is referral like a user X referring user Y you can add them as properties on events to say user X referred event has a property of referred Y.

How to track the time watched in a video by Mixpanel?

We have a method in our SDK that allows you to time events and we also have help page specifically for this use case: https://help.mixpanel.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004616406 Hope this helps

How can I filter for URLs that follow a certain pattern. Eg, if the page_visited has a URL property and I want to filter for all URLs that are like /page_id/qna/, how can I filter all URLs /{page_id}/qna?

An easy way to do this might be through lookup tables. Say you have all URLs on an excel in one column, you can add another column, say, Visitors from Facebook and add a value of 1 to it. Once uploaded, this lookup table allows you to easily filter or breakdown by this new column. More here https://help.mixpanel.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044139291

How do i link identity to event and is it advisable to do so? If i have a parent and child (referral programme), should i link parent to child or child to event or parent to event?

This depends on how a parent vs a child is viewed in your app. Are they both separate users having their own login IDs? If so they should have their own distinct_id where events are linked. You can perhaps add properties within say user X to say X is the parent of Y or in event for Y stating Y is the child of X.

We collect ph no instead of user's email address. Will there be any issues using Mixpanel?

That depends if your local regulations have restrictions on sending such information. Mixpanel simply capture whatever data you send. Best to check with your legal / privacy team on what can be sent into Mixpanel.

"Is Mixpanel compatible for Shopify stores? We are planning to migrate to Shopify (from Magento 2) and we intend to use Mixpanel for gorwth marketing. What's the best way to integrate Mixpanel with Shopify?"

We do see that Magento actually supports Custom JavaScript which could be used to implement Mixpanel's JS SDK. Magento dev docs: https://devdocs.magento.com/guides/v2.3/javascript-dev-guide/javascript/custom_js.html Mixpanel JS SDK: https://developer.mixpanel.com/docs/javascript-quickstart

Really to know how to see unique users and by touch point. where they are converting and where they might be dropping off?

The best way to analyse this in Mixpanel is with the Funnels report. Funnels calculate and display the amount of users who convert from one event to another within a particular time window. From here, you can very easily see where your users drop off, what segments convert the most, and other important facets of the user journey. Here is a step by step guide on how to use Funnels to answer your business questions - https://help.mixpanel.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019982652

Ours is a desktop SaaS app, our users login between DAU, WAU, or fortnightly. What would you recommend as the threshold and events triggered for considering newly onboarded users as NEW and still need product awareness type of messages?

Taking a step back you need to ask for your SaaS product what should be the Natural Frequency of usage. Example if your app is like a staff scheduling solution you would expect users to be logging in daily or weekly. If NEW users are not hitting this natural frequency say Daily / Weekly that would indicate that you may need to drive product awareness

Is it possible to get a 360 view of a customer including support?

yes, depending on what events you track into Mixpanel, just make sure you are identifying your users correctly and all events should be tied to the same user giving you a 360 view.

Can you track chat & calls?

Depending on what / how you want to analyse such chat info, these can be events and properties in Mixpanel. That being said Mixpanel is more around user behaviour and should you be looking at parsing keywords from chat we don't have such solution out of the box.

Are properties same for users as well as events?

Properties for Events and User Profiles have different scope. While event properties are tied to an event and are immutable, User Profile properties are mutable. You can find more information around Properties on our Help Page: Event Properties: https://help.mixpanel.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001355266-Event-Properties Profile Properties: https://help.mixpanel.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004708186

How can I use the Flow chart?

Mixpanel's flows reports typically helps companies to identifies the most frequent paths taken by their users to or from any event; and it can be extremely useful when analyzing drop-offs or unsuccessful behavior. Examples of questions that can be answered using Flows include : 1) What did users do immediately after account creation? 2) How do users navigate between account creation and adding an item to a cart?.

Is there a concept of a global id?

Not sure what you mean by global id? Are you perhaps referring to distinct_id or super properties? more info: https://help.mixpanel.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004509406 or https://help.mixpanel.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001355266#super-properties-for-events

How to create a DAU cohort?

The best way is to Count Users by DAU in the Mixpanel Insights report which will automatically aggregate this frequency of users for you. Within this Insights report, you can proceed to create a DAU cohort to calculate the number of unique users in the previous day (24-hour) period that have performed the selected Event.
