Hi Mixpanel team,

I am using:

  • react native v0.62.1
  • mixpanel-react-native v1.2.2
  • project settings have ID merge enabled (this is a new project)

I would like to merge pre-authentication events and connect them back to a user once they have logged in. I have used only the ‘identify’ method as suggested in the guide.

You can see here 4 events from the same user (me), the first two with anonymous distinct id and once identified using the users distinct id.

If I click on the identified distinct id (b9c...) it will show me the activity feed with only the identified events:

If i click on the anonymous id (435...) it will show me the merged events however if I refresh the page it goes back to showing me only the two identified events.

Is this expected behaviour or have you come across this before?

It looks like the events have now been merged under the same ID. I was expecting this to be immediate based on the documentation provided here: https://help.mixpanel.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039133851-Moving-to-Identity-Merge

In my case it took about 3 hours
