How to handle users where the user logs in using sessions?

Hi,

I am new to mixpanel and this seems confusing for me. Our app allows user to login once and then after that bookmark a page within the app and open the page evrytime without logging in again with the help of sessions.

Now, We already have a good number of users who are already using the app and are directly using the app by bookmarking the pages within the app, Now since the user is not loggin in even for one time, I am not able to map the user to an identity. I am currently identifying a user and setting people information in the login page or signup page.

How do i handle for the users who have already signedup and using the platform, Shoudl i call some function on all pages to ensure that these users are getting mapped and not coming as undefined?

Any help here would be highly appreciable

Hey - My name is Rich and I work as an implementation manager at Mixpanel.

In this case, provided that you know who the user is when they come back to a bookmarked page, you can call the identify() method the same that you would on login. You can feel free to make this call as frequently as you’d like as it won’t do anything if the user ID you pass is the user ID we already have for that user. I have clients who make this call on every page load to ensure that a user is always identified, even if they land on the page via a direct link or bookmark.
