We have created cohorts based on Flywheel metrics (https://www.productled.org/foundations/the-product-led-growth-flywheel).
We are able to track and engage people in respective cohorts rather easily in Mixpanel.
However, we are faced with a challenge. We cannot identify people moving in and out of different cohorts.
For example: We have two cohorts: Beginner (just started, low frequency user) and Regular (high frequency user) based on recency and frequency of usage.
Due to constant engagement, we converted a Beginner to become a Regular. But over time the user again slipped into very low activity which is equivalent to a beginner. Our engagement for ALL beginners does not suit a person like this because the she has gone through all the journey already.
It will greatly help if there is something in Mixpanel that can track changes, transition in people properties and let us customise our communication/engagement with them.
For example: What kind of engagement / product usage led Beginner to become a regular or vice versa?

You can track which users have moved between cohorts in a certain timeframe, and how many have moved between cohorts, over a time period, and you can then take those cohorts to filter the different reports (insights, funnels, flows..) and filter down those reports to these cohorts (for e.g. users that moved from beginner to regular) to understand what pattern of behavior was followed by users that moved between these engagement states.
