Hey fellow Mixpanel users,

As a new user of mixpanel, I have a basic question about retention. How can I interpret the 54.5% 7th day retention rate. I am using unbounded retention in the advanced query settings.

Thank you for your answer!

hi @Jelvs this report is showing you that 54% of users came back on or after 7 days because it’s unbounded. If it were on-day it would mean 54% of users came back on day 7 specifically. We’ve updated some of the language but our calculations are explained here https://help.mixpanel.com/hc/en-us/articles/360045484191

Let me know if this helps? If not, come along to the Mixpanel for all webinar where we can walk through live https://mixpanel.com/webinars/doing-more/emea-mixpanel-for-all/
