Hi everyone 👋
I’m building Kuri, a sustainable cooking app on iOS that calculates the carbon footprint of its recipes.
We track which recipes are cooked, and when we do, we sent the recipe’s carbon emissions as a custom event property (“emissions”, which contains a numerical value).
What I’m trying to achieve is to see the Average emissions value of the “Cooked Recipe” event.
E.g. 2 events “cooked recipe” are received. “emissions” (custom property attached to the event) value of first event is 500, “emissions” of second event is 1000. Average should be 750.
Is it doable in Mixpanel, or should I simply export the data and do it in a spreadsheet?

In the current Insights report, for the event (in your case “Cooked Recipe”), click on the overflow menu and select “Add Aggregation”, and then select what type of aggregation you want to do on property values (sum, average..):
Here’s a link to your report with this done: https://mixpanel.com/s/34ofp
In the next 1-2 weeks, you will see a change in the Insights report, where all the operations that you can do on events, users and properties will show up in the main operator dropdown (where TOTAL shows up today) and here’s a sneak peek: https://jmp.sh/yjHkwIC
Hope this helps,
